Beacon Future Ready Programme
Beacon Future Ready Programme
The Beacon Future Ready Programme (BFRP) is a key programme to develop active and critically engaged citizens, and confident and creative learners. With the school's desired outcomes at its core, the BFRP provides students with opportunities to acquire knowledge, skills and values to experience, explore and innovate, and build confidence through collaboration and demonstration.
With an emphasis on “Environmental Sustainability”, students will develop skills in communication, problem-solving, computational thinking, values of care and empathy, while collaborating with their peers in various VIA (Values in Action) projects.
Primary 1 and 2
Students are briefly exposed to problem solving through robotics and toy making. During the activities, students innovate with passion and navigate with resourcefulness to complete their projects.
Primary 3
Students are introduced to the theme of “Environmental Sustainability”. Through modules in Drama, Animation Coding, and Upcycling, they acquire skills in problem-solving, computational thinking and communication, as well and values in kindness and empathy. During the activities, students also learn to serve with compassion and honour relationships with integrity.
Primary 4
Students explore further into the theme of “Environmental Sustainability” and how to be advocates for the environment. Through modules in Game Coding, and Toy Making, they develop their skills in problem-solving, computational thinking, while learning to collaborate and develop projects in teams.
Primary 5
At Primary 5, students learn to act towards “Environmental Sustainability”. At Primary 5, they acquire high level skills in Automation Coding, before embarking on a Community Problem Solving Project.
Community Problem Solving Project
The Community Problem Solving Project takes on the approach of serving the community with a theme of environmental sustainability. Through the guidance of teacher-facilitators over a few sessions, Primary 5 students will eventually develop prototypes or concepts of their solutions, presenting it to their peers.
